If you want to visit one of the most beautiful places on earth while getting to know a completely new culture and learning spanish this is the place to go. My ten weeks in the city of Leticia can only be described as Amazing, as is appropriate considering its location in the centre of the Amazon rainforest.

Well ok, to be frank, I’d been impatiently looking forward to reaching this country at the extremity of the continent, and this for several months. Indeed, apart from its past weeks excessive media coverage, each time I met backpackers travelling in the opposite direction, towards the South, it was the same story, Colombia appeared to be a “must see” on the continent. And even though this country (the only one in South America with access to 2 oceans) was not really on my travel programme before I left (first not to end as Ingrid (Betancourt) and above all not to worry my parents too much…), it progressively imposed itself after all the high praises I kept hearing from Patagonia to the Amazon forest…

On this 2nd of January, I would like to wish you all a very happy new year, may all your wishes come true ….. I would also like to take this opportunity to make serious new year’s resolutions by writing my first article of the year…after such a long time without any news, some of you may have wondered whether I’d been kidnapped by the guerrilla or else whether, tired of writing articles for this blog, I might have chosen the easy way out by joining a para-military group… Far from it as you will see !

Here I am once more in a bus,  busy writing my article in between 2 cities, 2 points on the great map of the continent, 2 moments of the journey…

iBon là changement de decor par rapport a l'article precedent, il est 3h du matin, je suis dans le terminal de bus de Bogota...et je prends mon avion dans 4 heures pour...Cuba.... 
Donc, oui, je suis tres en retard en sachant que le dernier article ne fait que remonter a la fin du mois de novembre....
Je vais donc essayer d'aller un peu plus vite ce coup ci...
